In reality, a lot of programs are made to run on Linux and Mac, and sometimes only Linux. While Mac is expensive (and really expensive), Linux is free, you have freedom for different distros, plus the online community can solve all your problems. I never really tried Mac, but in windows it is hard to find answers to some questions when you get stuck. Once you start using it you, start liking it. I chose it because I preferred to install Ubuntu rather than by a Mac. I never got stuck in any thing since I have been working on Linux, I always found a command, or program or some trick to solve my problem.
