How to decide on a reasonable title for a bioinformatics talk

As a bioinformatics researcher, I have been working on plants, animals and human genomes for past several years. I have been working on a wide array of datasets including exome genotyped data, small RNAs/RNAseq and microbiome datasets, and have published several papers based on these analyses. However, when it comes to giving an hour long talk, I won't be able to do so based on one particular paper or project because of limited contributions (or analyses) I made in each of these papers. For example, recently I have been working on these topics:

  1. Dissecting RNA silencing pathways in fungi (15 minutes talk)
  2. Quality control of NGS data analysis (15 minutes talk)
  3. Effects of soil salinity in microbiome diversity (15 minutes talk)
  4. Effect of crop rotation in soil microbiome diversity affecting the overall yield (15 minutes talk)

I would like to come up with a coherent title (overarching title) for all these topics I have worked on.

What is your strategy to derive a suitable bioinformatics title out of different research topics? I would also appreciate any suggestions you could give me based on my research topics mentioned above.

While you have it tagged as research is this talk for a job interview or a general presentation? Are you trying to highlight your expertise in bioinformatics, conclusions you were able to draw or a mix of both? I can appreciate the difficulty of coming up with a talk title that sounds interesting/coherent when you are involved in projects mainly in a service/support role.

It seems to me that one of your strong selling points is research diversity. That also happens to be a theme in your research subjects, so I think diversity should be somewhere in your title.

The value of diversity: fungi, soil microbes and crops

or

The value of diversity: fungi, soil microbes, crops and bioinformaticians

If you were to use this title, I would suggest that you point out in the opening that it reflect both your interests and the communities you study.
