How to use GEO to assess presence/absence of a specific gene in specific tissue or cell line

Hey all,

I am trying to answer if a gene is expressed in a specific cell type (or tissue).

+The cell type is too specific for human protein atlas or EMBL expression atlas to identify ( as far as I can tell). +There do not seem to be any literature articles with expression data on this gene in the cell type of interest.

That said, I have found several studies that analyze RNA-seq in the exact cell type of interest, which have linked GEO profiles. I am not necessarily looking for differentially expressed, I just want to know if my gene of interest is expressed... how do I go about answering that question with the GEO profile page? Not sure on next steps.

Two example GEO profiles - > GSE46546 and GSE118187.

Thanks!
