Normal tissue from blood or neighboring to tumor

What is the preferred choice of selecting tissue to take a normal sample from: blood or tissue neighboring to solid tumor for which pathologist confirmed that it is tumor free? I know normal from blood is something that we usually see being done, but interested to hear more about pros and cons of both approaches.
