I tried to open IGV v2.7 on my mac (OS X 10.10.5) from app and command line. It chashed every time. Here the reported error. I don't know how to solve it. Thank you in advance for the help.

What version of Java are you using? IGV 2.4 and above requires at least Java version 8. You can chack here for other requirements

Yosemite is quite old, maybe an upgrade of the macOS would do you a favour.
I agree with ATpoint else, you could install a previous version of IGV
