I'd like to announce that we'll be using this forum as a way to provide support to users of vg and associated tools that work with the same generic data model (a bidirectional DNA sequence graph with paths representing genomes or other important sequences like genes or transcripts).

Just tag your post with "vg" or "variation graph" or "vgteam". Members of the group will keep an eye on this forum.

You can access the posts tagged "vg" via this link: https://www.biostars.org/t/vg/ (Updated 2022 to https://www.biostars.org/tag/vg/)

Cheers!

You should add this note to your GitHub page as well. So people know where to go for support and tags they should use.

You caught me as I was doing that. Thanks!

I'm just not sure if I should shift the "url" attribute of the repo to point here. It might make it easier to find.

I would suggest adding relevant text in your original post here under a Support heading on your repo so there is no confusion. As posts add up for vg tags your original announcement will likely get pushed down the page that one reaches using the URL you posted at top of repo.

Thank you for pointing out that you can find questions related to your program using https://www.biostars.org/t/[tag name]/

It also looks like you have been providing great support on GitHub:

https://github.com/vgteam/vg/issues

I hope this helps provide your best possible support!
