Please use google and the search function to find tutorials, blogs and papers that will guide you. The Biostars Handbook might be worth looking at as well but it must be purchased.

As for learning bioinformatics, there are many, many resources, as free courses on Coursera, free and paid books, and plenty of tutorials around. For genome assembly, for example, the first two hits for searching for genome assembly tutorial were:
