Please (again) see How to add images to a Biostars post to add your images properly. You need the direct link to the image, not the link to the webpage that has the image embedded (which is what you have used here).

I would guess Illustrator or Inkscape (or even Powerpoint). Looks like a simple custom-made figure.

I don't think so. Infopath (according to this tutorial) can do several things, but is not very powerful for even simple graphs. As ATpoint suggested, you can use Illustrator, Inkscape, PowerPoint or Libreoffice Impress, or Libreoffice Draw. You could also try microsoft paint.
