varscan tool for copy number variation detection

i am using varscan tool to find copy number variation i am following commands from varscan website copy number variants tutorial but the file from this code is empty java -jar VarScan.jar copyCaller varScan.copynumber --output-file varScan.copynumber.called [--output-homdel-file varScan.copynumber.called.homdel] it gives me a file named varScan.copynumber.called but the file is empty.
