Does Mauve tool work?

Dear Friends,

I have been trying to use Mauve "http://darlinglab.org/mauve/mauve.html". It seems to be showing erros such as, not loading gbk annotations for some files, and not displaying annotations in the "feature" section? I would really appreciate your comments on this and if you know of a better tool alternative to mauve.

What is it you want to use it for exactly? Just as a viewer?

Most people use Mauve for contig reordering in my experience.

To view mostly, but i think we can manually curate gene annotations there rt? but , it seems to show such errors I mentioned.

I don't think mauve is meant to be used as a curation tool.

You may be right - though I've never known anyone to use Mauve for such a purpose.

Have you tried a 'proper' genome viewer, something like IGV or Artemis instead?
