I'm writing a book. It's an Orwellian style prediction/horror book which is essentially about the unstoppable march of technology.

I have done this by introducing an alien so we can fast forward our own tech a couple of hundred years. To make horror from this, we have to blend his tech with ours, which means that he has to be very like us and that's the problem. He's currently indistinguishable from us. I have to make him sociologically similar, so that the tech works. He will be the product of Darwinian evolution (all hail Dawkins), but he should be different biologically in some substantial way.

I've been punting around videos like this...copper blood....anything of this nature.

If anybody has a while to daydream and a while more to post, combined with the good will to help me, then I'd be mighty grateful - and interested on a personal level. What I'm writing is very well informed but not too technical.
