Metagenomics - mothur

Hello,

When I try running heatmap.bin for mothur, I get a data file headed by "svg xmlns:svg="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" rather than getting a visual impression. Please help. Thanks

That "data file" is an svg file which is an image.

Thank you. Okay, but I do not see the image...I only see writing. Do I need another program to turn the data into a graphical image?

I don't know how you are trying to open the file now, and I don't know your operating system. But if you are on a linux system you can open the image using eog.
