Microarray background correction.(affymetrix)

In microaray analysis, say afymetrix, image analysis is done by Gridding, Segmentation, Intensity Extraction and background correction. This leads to .CEL files. The content in .CEL files is once more background corrected using MAS5.0 or RMA algorithm. Am I right, ie there are 2 background correction steps?

background correction is just one part of RMA. RMA is a 3 step method english.server

My understanding from this pager, Gridding, Segmentation, Intensity Extraction are part of CEL file generation from dat files, not background correction.
