How to convert rmdup.bam file into fasta format?
Hello. I have a bam.zip file and when I unzipped it became rmdup.bam file. I need to convert this rmdup.bam file into fasta format. Could someone help me with this? I am using Biolinux.

a) bams are already compressed data, if it was zipped, that was a waste
b) there is no real 1:1 correspondence between bams and fastas, they encode different types of sequence data
You need to go read up on these formats, for which there are plentiful resources online, then come back with a question that more accurately describes what you are trying to do. The community here will be happy to help once you've done that.
