Biostars API : retrieve only original questions not answers or comment

Hi,

Using biostars API it's possible to access information concerning all posts from biostars users. Example : https://www.biostars.org/api/post/25/

However is there a way to access only the original questions and not comments or answers.

In the returned JSON file, it would be possible to filter the different entry using the "type" value. It should be equal to "Question". However it requires to first get all posts and is not the most optimized ...

Any idea ?

In the last two years, John had written a python program to retrieve information from Biostars programmatically. I can't readily find that post but you can see if that helps towards this goal. I will keep looking and post here if I find that post.

Edit: Found the post. Unfortunately the code no longer seems to be available (Biostars question catagories ) @John has not been here for the past month so not sure if he would see this question and respond. We will have to wait and see.
