Can I add information to FASTA/genbank/text files without going through every file one by one?

Hello, I am new to bioinformatics and coding. I have fasta files from ~900 patients for 3 genes per patient and need to add additional information (whether a patient is a donor or recipient of an infection) that is currently found in an excel spreadsheet. I am wondering whether anyone knows of a way to add this information to the files in some sort of automated manner. I need to construct phylogenetic trees (which I would be doing with SeaView) with the data so my problem is I don't want to go back and forth to the separate file to check whether a sequence comes from donor or a recipient.... The issue also is that the info is different for each patient so for each accession number and set of sequences respectively. I saw that one can add this info in the names of the sequence in SeaView but that is done one by one... I don't necessarily need fasta files, they could be genbank or text files as well. Hope that makes sense and will be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks, Anna
