Hi Biostars,

I created a short video for a science communication contest a couple of months on "Big Data in Biology". I have been thinking of trying to turn this into a video series centered around demystifying bioinformatics and computational biology for those who might not have a background in the field, or who are casual followers of science.

I am participating in another video contest now, so check it out and like/share! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YSO4NCqRfM

If anyone has ideas for future videos, I'd love to hear them. There are plenty of possible topics, although I'd probably those which have probably been covered well elsewhere (such as how does Illumina sequencing work?). Maybe things like reliability of various sequencing platforms, what is GWAS good for, how we analyze metagenomic (microbiome) data, etc. If there's something you have found to have a lot of public misconception or misunderstanding of, I'd like to try to give it a shot. I'm pretty new to this science communication thing, but have a lot of experience in video production, so this is a result of combining my background in bioinformatics with my other hobbies for the possibility of public good :) .

Thanks!
