Is there any literature for using kmer counting to determine ploidy?
I've found several posts describing how to use kmer counts of NGS data to determine the ploidy of organisms. (See A: Determine ploidy using SNP-Calling and How To Check For Ploidy Using Ngs Only? )
I've found journal articles that use this method but none that talk about why it's a valid method. Is there any literature describing using kmer counting to determine ploidy?
