About the company
AnchorDx, a startup company based at Guangzhou, China, was co-founded by Dr. Jian-Bing Fan (former Senior Director of Scientific Research at Illumina) and Dr. Xuyu Cai (Harvard University) in 2015 and funded by Northern Light Venture Capital (NLVC). The company is currently working on a broad spectrum of NGS-based clinical diagnosis products toward the realization of precision medicine. It has developed proprietary technologies and tests for use with medical specimens such as archived tissue samples, blood samples, circulating tumor cells and cell-free DNA for non-invasive cancer detection and monitoring. Responsibility
- Develop classification algorithms for clinical endpoint prediction using NGS data of methylation and/or somatic mutations.
- Evaluate and utilize bioinformatics analysis methods and tools; build and optimize bioinformatics workflow.
- Work closely within R&D team and with product team to help define product enhancements, spec technical requirements, develop project plans, generate test cases and write technical white papers
Supervise junior members of bioinformatics team; communicate with collaborators and coordinate different projects. Requirements
PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, cancer genomics or related fields, or M.S. plus 3+ years relevant experience
- Knowledge of cancer genomics and tumor biology is a plus
- Expertise in scripting language - R/Python/Shell and linux shell environment
- Excellent data analysis skills and knowledge of statistical methods, including development of novel algorithms for interpretation of NGS data
- Awareness and experience with current landscape of bioinformatics tools
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced startup environment
- Self-starter: you can take a problem at hand and run with it independently, yet are comfortable asking for help when you need it
