I am trying to understand what the coverage definition mean in SPAdes.

According to SPAdes, this is what they say:

"Read coverage cutoff value. Must be a positive float value, or 'auto', or 'off'. Default value is 'off'. When set to 'auto' SPAdes automatically computes coverage threshold using conservative strategy."

How does SPAdes calculate the auto coverage. I could not find any information regarding the conservative strategy. Kindly help.
