I'm an informatician (Software Engineer) who has been working since the begining of this year in bioinformatics in a plant research institute. I've spent the last several day looking for good bibliography I can rely on about the biological aspect of the topic. As an informatician, usual bioinformatics books do not fit my needs since they're biologist-oriented (explain the software-side of the things)

I think Pasrt II and III will cover your needs meanwhile in each chapter you can have further reading about topics
