Using ncbi eutilities in a clinical scenario

Hello All,

I am reading through all the NCBI e utilities and am wondering if this can be used in a practical scenario in a clinical setting to search for genetic mutations that have occurred in any type of cancer.

  1. Can the results from eutilites be saved in a local database?
  2. Is it possible to link the ncbi database to other databases as well outside of the ncbi databases?

Thank you in advance
