Evolution in Primates

What are the methods by which we could find out that the gene sequence has evolved through primates to humans? Do we have to see SNVs in them ?

You have had a question with the same title. As I did explain there, it was partly unclear what you are asking. Please improve your question, so that it can be answered. The main problem might be mostly due to language. In this case show "... that the gene ... evolved through primates to humans" is far from a clear question. This is because: - all genes evolve, so the answer would just be 'yes, all genes are subject to evolution', you do not need a specific method, unless you want to prove that 1. humans evolved from a primate ancestor and that 2. primates is a monophyletic group. Both are widely accepted. - humans are primates, and thus have a primate ancestor, all genes must have evolved from their ancestor, unless they stem from horizontal gene transfer (unlikely), they are novel genes (also unlikely for protein coding genes) As these are mostly trivial answers, I believe you mean something else. It would make most sense to tell us what gene or gene family you are talking about, and what is the concrete question is that you were given.
