Why Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 (Pf) posses the highest carbon content in its protein sequences??

While comparing protein sequence of 10 species, which also include pf3D7, I found carbon content is more in pf3D7. when searching for the reason - I found Glucose and glycerol provide the major carbon sources for malaria parasites. Is the explanation correct or wrong. Can be some other reasons?

Please explain me.
