Submission of adapter-removed and QC-trimmed sequence reads to NCBI SRA or EMBL-EBI ENA databases

Hi everyone,

This may have been asked before, but can adapter-removed and QC-trimmed sequence reads be submitted to the NCBI SRA or EMBL-EBI ENA databases? Strictly speaking, this type of sequence data is not 'raw' sequence data, but can it be submitted to support an RNA-seq experiment for a peer-reviewed scientific publication?

Best wishes and thanks in advance,

David.

As long as you submit information about what you did to get the data being submitted.
That said is there a reason for not submitting the raw data and providing instructions on how one can trim/process that data in your paper/supplementary materials/SRA submission?

Does it have to be ENA? Maybe EBI's BioSamples database is an option for you, in case ENA is not flexible enough for your 'format'.
