Hello friends, Meta analysis of micro-array data may help to identify novel insights of gene expression data sets.Most of the meta analysis work form cancer studies. can i use this methodology for viral or bacterial data sets and also kindly share ideas on merits and demerits of meta-analysis of micro-array data

Yes you can use the same methods. For me the value of microarray metaanalysis relates to reproducibility and the detection of robust changes, not novelty. I think there are other questions on here that relate to the methods.
