I agree with Michael's lock, but in any case there isn't really a requirement for a script here - you just put the DOI after "http://dx.dio.org/" and it automatically resolves. e.g. http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/nmeth.2688

If the issue is opening a browser from python with a specific web address, then have a google of that instead.

But here is another point: this is not bioinformatics, or is having a doi specific to bio-* articles? So it's not even bioinformatics.

Btw, how did you bypass the lock?
