Gene lengths: what does it measure?
Hello, I just have a basic question: I know the exact definition of a gene at the molecular level is fuzzy, but for the human reference genome/databases that use it, what does the length of the gene that they reported include? For instance, is gene length measured from the 5' UTR to 3'UTR, including introns? Or does it contain the promoters, etc.
