different between CEL and CHIP files in microarray

hi,

may you please tell me what is the difference between CEL and CHIP files in microarrays? i know we can normalize CEL files to downstream analysis then what we can do with CHIP files in the same experiment??? i mean when downloading a microarray experiment i see both of these files in zip file but i cant figure out what the CHIP files are

Do you mean CHIP or CHP? CHP and CEL files are Affymetrix format files

CEL are the raw measures, CHP are the processed signals - see here, here and here.
