Downsides of using RAxML

Hi, Im new to phylogenetic software so my knowledge is a little bit limited. I would like to know the possibles disadvanteges, problems or downsides of using RAxML for phylogenic analisys. I guess there must be some criticsm of the use of CAT as a GAMMA aproximate, or the fact you can only use one model of DNA evolution (GTR), but I would like to know more. Thank you

RAxML is intended for really large datasets. One criticism against GTR is it may overfit the data when you have a small number of observations, so RAxML is a poor choice for small datasets - not its intended use anyway.
