STRUCTURE VS. ADMIXTURE

Dear all,

Both STRUCTURE and ADMIXTURE are used to infer the population structure in a population. What is the main difference between STRUCTURE software and ADMIXTURE software? I know that ADMIXTURE is much faster than STRUCTURE but I am trying to understand the concept behind both of them.

ADMIXTURE uses a maximum likelihood framework and STRUCTURE uses bayesian approach. Both will generate similar results. I "tend" to see more mixing between groups when I use STRUCTURE.

I usually run both and subsample the data for STRUCTURE.
