I have read paper named Oncofuse : a computational framework for the prediction of the oncogenic potential of gene fusions and encountered a word that is strange to me.

Below is an example of sentence.

1. Mitelman database of fusions in cancer was used to make an estimate of the recurrence of specific fusions. Only unique FPG pairs were selected in this case.
2. We selected 24 feature for classification of 'driver' fusions based on our previous analysis of fusion gene hallmarks. These include 12 features 'retained' and 12 features 'lost' in the resulting fusion gene (e.g the promoter of the 5' FPG is retained , whereas the promoter of the 3' FPG is lost)

there are no explanations of FPG. I think that FPG is a abbreviation but actually I can't catch the meaning.

So could you explain those meaning with regarding sentence?
