ANIb versus ANIm
Hi,
I'm conducting a research to explore bacterial diversity using R. leguminorarum population as a model. I'm using Average nucleotide identity (ANI) analysis to delineate the species in this population. I'm not too sure whether to use ANIb or ANIm so I have chosen ANIb which is the default option. I've read that ANIm is used to decrease the running time . Besides that, is there a significant difference between the two parameters and is my result going to be less accurate if I use ANIb instead of ANIm?

Check out this paper for a comparison of the two methods as well as a third way of performing these calculations using tetranucleotide frequencies.
