I work on the spatial epidemiology and molecular evolution of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis.

Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) is an emerging, worldwide threat to amphibian biodiversity. Bd has been shown to infect over 500 species of amphibians, and the Species Survival Commission of The World Conservation Union (IUCN) declared in 2005 that chytridiomycosis,

"is the worst infectious disease ever recorded among vertebrates in terms of the number of species impacted, and its propensity to drive them to extinction,".
