The FastTrack Bioinformatics 2025 course (Aug 25 – Dec 12, 2025) is now live and available at no extra cost to anyone with access to the Biostar Handbook.
The course offers a comprehensive training path, beginning with foundational Unix skills and progressing to advanced topics, including RNA-seq analysis and variant calling. It is designed to provide participants with the practical, hands-on expertise necessary to execute and interpret modern bioinformatics workflows.
Shortened and streamlined screencasts are provided as accelerated versions of the in-class lectures, making the full curriculum accessible throughout the semester.
Unlike traditional courses built around sanitized datasets, FastTrack Bioinformatics uses real published data, complete with all its quirks, irregularities, and complexity. This approach ensures that participants gain experience in solving genuine research problems while learning to design reproducible and robust pipelines.
