Dear colleagues, registration is still open for the Physalia online course Sex Chromosome Evolution (6–10 October), but only a few seats remain.

This course will provide participants with both theoretical background and hands-on training on how genomic and transcriptomic data can be used to identify sex chromosomes and study their evolution. Topics include:

  • Detection of homo-/heteromorphic sex chromosomes
  • Early stages of sex chromosome differentiation
  • Recombination suppression and evolutionary strata
  • Gene gain/loss, divergence, and dosage compensation
  • Sex-biased gene expression analysis

The course combines lectures, practical exercises, and interactive discussions with instructors.
