ESTIMATE -tidyestimate package- tumour purity
Good afternoon,
I would like to calculate tumour purity of TCGA RNA-seq samples using estimate or tidyestimate R package. Since the documentation of tidyestimate seemed much more detailed I decided to use this package to calculate tumour purity.
However, reading the documentation it says the "purity" can not be calculated for RNA-Seq data with this package. But then I found in other posts and also publications saying that it is actually possible for RNA-seq. Now I am a bit confused, can anyone clarify please?
Thank you!

Any particular reason we want to re-calculate them instead of just scraping the data from previous publications?
