Issues with Minimap2 and ONT (Nanopore)

Hello, I am trying to map ONT reads against the latest NCBI database which consists of plant reads + viruses. The database is huge and I get this error:

Command: -a -x map-ont -y -t 60 --split-prefix tmp_minimap

Error: minimap2: hit.c:210: mm_hit_sort: Assertion 'has_cigar + no_cigar == 1' failed

Did you pre-create the database or are you supplying the fasta as you are mapping?

I pre-created the database and mapping is done as a part of automated pipeline
