nanopore sequencing is much faster than sanger and NGS, opening up the possibility of its use for things like intra-operative surgery.

heard of a cool approach that involves dropping liquid nitrogen on a bit of tissue within a tiny kevlar bag, then pulverizing it, then starting from there.

in the case of ultra-rapid sequencing, was wondering what the current thoughts/protocols/techniques being considered are to go from solid tissue to reads as fast as possible.

would be interested in hearing about many different approaches even if not the best or most popular just to get a sense for what is out there.
