Differences between genomic position and genomic loci?
I am reading a paper and it shows the following figure:
"...while the x-axis denotes the genomic position in megabases for Figure (A), the x-axes for Figures (B) denote the ordered genomic loci of positions."
I am wondering what's the differences between genomic position and genomic loci of positions? loci is the location within a genome while genomic position is a fixed position on a chromosome (which is just loci?)?

I also think so. So the right plot is the same as the left one, but without "gaps".
it further says the right plot is indexed by variant order rather than position. What exactly is variant order? Thanks!
same order that on the left picture. these are the same pictures, the right one is just a "compressed" version of the left one, without genomic "gaps".
