Swiss-prot and pfam

Hi all,

I have a very general question. Is it safe to assume that Pfam has identified (nearly) all functional domains of swiss-prot proteins?

no, it is not safe to assume that.

Besides Pfam there are many other DBs with functional (&structural ) domains, that might not be present in Pfam.

On a more positive note, Pfam will hold many many of the functional domains in swiss-prot so in worst case you will miss out only a limited number
