Best sequence alignment tool
Hi-
I want to compare different sequence aligners for part of an assignment I am writing. I am seeing through the posts on here that the best choice of sequence aligner depends on the type of data you are working with.
I don't really have much knowledge of the field (as in I can't tell what type of data would be best to align with MUMmer or BWA for example). I am wondering whether there is a review paper to summarise what the best sequence aligner tool is given the type of dataset you have?

Pair-wise sequence aligners are a different class (e.g. bwa) of tools compared to multiple sequence alignment tools (e.g. MUSCLE). Which of the two are you interested in? What kind of data are you working with?
