Cell therapy is the transfer of intact, live cells into a patient to treat or cure a disease. Cell-based immunotherapy and in particular, modified-cell immunotherapy such as CAR-T, has been delivering spectacular results for cancer patients and is an entirely new approach to treating cancer. Immune cells are removed from the patient’s blood and engineered to identify and attack the cancer cells when they are reintroduced into the patient.

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Research Fellow to join our academic research group to develop new bioinformatics approaches for single cell data to allow us to understand and refine the manufacturing process for cell therapies.
The salary for this position ranges from €48,627 - €55,811. For exceptional candidates, we are open to increasing salary. A generous relocation package to support relocation to Ireland is also available. Our Institute supports a hybrid working environment.
- A PhD in Bioinformatics or related discipline essential. Postdoctoral experience highly desirable.
- Experience in the analysis next generation sequencing data is essential.
- Experience with multiple data types is desirable (e.g. RNASeq or ATACSeq).
- Proficient in programming languages such as R and/or Python.
- Familiar with version control e.g. Git
- Experience with single cell RNA-seq or ATAC-seq is highly desirable.
