Indels for species identification
Hello, anon. I aligned matK sequences in MEGA and observed the "-" to determine the number of indels. I would like to ask if I did it correctly and how will I use the total number of indels for identifying a certain plant species? Does higher indels indicate that it is better for identification?
Your help regarding interpretation is highly appreciated, thank you.
