Clarification on transcripts
I am confused whether does a transcript consists of . Looking at ensembl, the transcript includes the introns and exons but people have been telling me that the only the exons is part of the transcript.

I think you have to read some molecular biology basics and what the process of splicing is. This is probably off-topic and the question might get deleted. Consult some textbooks first, then try to answer the question yourself. The basic concepts are a must when you analyse data (or anything).
