A new version of Biostar has been made active. The feature that warrants an announcement is that moderators may now edit/delete/merge tags.

To do so visit http://www.biostars.org/edit/tags/

• to delete tags click the checkbox and press submit
• to modify one or more tags click the link, enter the new spelling and press submit

There are some limitations to the changes that can be made. Tags with more than 5 uses may not be deleted. Tags with more than 25 uses may not be corrected.

As a suggestion try not to submit too many changes at once - other people may be simultaneously editing the tags and that could end up being confusing for everyone involved.
