Design Computer For Phylogenetic Analysis
Hi Biostars, I have been given ~$5000 to design a computer to be used primarily for phylogenetic analysis. I deal with about 300 taxa on average. I have access to a cluster for really big jobs, but it would be nice to have a good machine I have direct access to. Given that amount of money, what should I focus my spending on? processors, memory, graphic cards,... ? thanks
ps I mainly use MrBayes, Raxml, PhyML, and several alignment programs.
