Expressed Sequences Tags For Identifying Mirna Promoters
Can anybody tell me how ESTs can be used for identifying mirna promoters? I have gone through few papers like http://www.pnas.org/content/104/45/17719.long and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3241639/ but couldn't actually get the proper details.

Assuming you've already identified probable miRNA from the ESTs you could map the miRNA back to the genome and look for promoters that are known to regulate nearby genes.
