Ensembl VEP

Dear @Emily_Ensembl, I found http://bacteria.ensembl.org/info/website/index.html has also the data for bacteria (E. coli). However, it needs the identifier for variant. In the case of humans, I know that the variants have some ids (via dbsnp, etc). However, I do not know what the id means for bacteria (or E. coli, in specific)?

You don't need an identifier, just the genomic position. For VCF input, just put a . in the ID column.
