Macbook Pro processor chips: M1 vs Intel
Hi all,
I'm going to purchase a new MacBook and am wondering if anyone has some insight for Apple's M1 chip vs Intel in the context of bioinformatic tools and any potential pitfalls in choosing one over the other.
I develop/test locally on my mac and then "deploy" to a linux server, so absolute computing power is not the issue, just compatibility of the chipset with the wide assortment of bioinformatic tools out there.
